COMMUNITY

Trailnet works closely with local councils, schools and other organisations to provide activities for the local community. Whether it’s supplying novelty bikes for public fun days, running geocaching sessions for schools and youth groups, or organising competitive mountain bike races, we are committed to encouraging people of all ages to become more active.

Some of the services we provide are:

  • Novelty Bikes –our fleet of unusual bikes are a big hit at community events and offer the young and young-at-heart to try out tandems, penny farthings and other weird and wonderful machines
  • Dr. Bike – carrying out safety checks and basic repairs encourages people of all ages to cycle in the knowledge that they have a roadworthy bike. Our experienced and qualified mechanics will do all they can to bring neglected bikes back into service
  • Bike Exchange – for those that can’t afford a new bike, we have a large selection of refurbished bikes that we offer for sale at bargain basement prices. We often run these exchanges in conjunction with our Dr. Bike service
  • Bike Polo – just like it says on the tin, this is like regular polo but using bikes instead of horses! The game can be played by anyone that can ride one-handed and we can run anything from a try-out session to a full tournament for local businesses or other groups
  • Obstacle Course – riders attempt to navigate a series of obstacles in the shortest time and get their names on our leader board. The course is designed to favour control over speed and is suitable for anyone that can ride a bike
  • Mini-Bike Racing – our mini BMX bikes provide the opportunity for all ages to race against each other. This provides a hilarious spectacle and is great fun for all those that take part
  • Geocaching – a high-tech treasure hunt using hand-held GPS units to find a series of hidden caches. Most suitable for events within large areas of parkland, this is an effective way to get people to visit specific local sites of interest
