CORPORATE ACTIVITIES, EVENTS & SERVICES

From our earliest days, Trailnet has worked with companies of all sizes to provide a range of activity promotion initiatives:

Team Building

Companies and other organisations are always looking for new ways to entertain and motivate staff and Trailnet offer a range of exciting but cost-effective solutions tailored to your specific requirements. Some examples of what we can deliver include:

  • Challenge Events – you will use the latest GPS technology to negotiate a walking, cycling or mixed course at Thorndon Park or at an appropriate site of your choice. The physical-cerebral balance of is up to you: anything from military-style assault course to challenges requiring Mensa-level problem solving skills.
  • Bike Polo – as it says on the tin, this is like regular polo but on bikes instead of horses. Bike Polo is a great way to settle inter-department rivalries by matching teams against each other in a mini tournament.
The sport is a great leveller as it requires a unique blend of bike handling and eye-hand co-ordination, meaning that control usually wins out over brute force. We provide all necessary equipment and just need a suitable playing area.

Event Support

For organisations wishing to host their own staff events we can help make these a success by providing the equipment, staff and expertise to plan, organise and manage the event. Our event services include:

  • Project Management (feasibility to delivery)
  • Equipment Hire (bikes; GPS; timing equipment; marquees etc)
  • Event Staff

Travel Planning

Businesses and other organisations can benefit from having a robust travel plan:

  • Reduce business mileage expenses
  • Relieve pressure on car parking
  • Lower staff commuting costs
  • Strengthen environmental credentials

Trailnet can help you to encourage staff to cycle to work by providing a number of support services:

  • Dr. Bike – staff can get their bike checked and serviced. This is a very cost-effective way to encourage cycling and remove the excuse that ‘my bike needs repairing’
  • Bike Maintenance – staff often want to gain the skills to check, maintain and repair their own or their family’s bikes. We offer courses at beginner, intermediate and advanced level
  • Cycle Training – many people considering commuter cycling are put off by the thought of riding in traffic. Trailnet offer a range of Bikeability equivalent courses for all abilities
  • Cycle Seminars – our short sessions cover a range of subjects: highlighting the health, financial and environmental benefits of cycling; advice on choosing a suitable bike; safe cycling; route selection; and improving fitness

Volunteering

Engaging with their local community can pay big dividends for both private businesses and public sector groups. Trailnet have volunteering opportunities in the following areas:

  • Helping with our Inclusive Cycling sessions for those with a range of disabilities
  • Working to help refurbish bikes at our community bike exchange project
  • Occasional maintenance projecst at our various centres
