Health Rides

Trailnet’s off-road Health Rides are aimed at progressively improving fitness, developing riding skills and increasing confidence on the bike.
Our rides vary in length and difficulty from under an hour on relatively flat terrain to two-hour-plus hilly sessions. All rides end with the opportunity to socialise over well-earned drinks and snacks.
Currently scheduled rides are listed below but if you can’t make any of these, call us on 07939 249980 or email to enquire about other sessions.
Scheduled Rides
| Day | Time | Location | Level |
| Tuesday | 10:00 | Thorndon Country Park | Intermediate |
| Wednesday | 12:30 | Great Notley Country Park | Beginner & Intermediate |
| Thursday | 10:00 | Thorndon Country Park | Advanced |
| Thursday | 13:30 | Thorndon Country Park | Beginner |
| Tuesday | 11:00 | Weald Country Park | Beginner & Intermediate |
Beginner rides tend to stay within the parks and are on mostly flat, relatively even surfaces and last between 45 minutes and one hour. We recommend that those who haven’t ridden for some time or are uncertain about their fitness start out with these rides.
Intermediate rides are between 60 and 90 minutes in length and include some quiet road sections. The terrain is more challenging and you’ll need to work a bit harder but these rides will definitely improve your strength and stamina.
Advanced rides are up to 2 hours duration and include more difficult terrain, both in technical terms and in the steepness and length of the hills. If you have a good fitness base and are confident on rough surfaces, these are the rides for you.
Cost
Your first health ride is free, with subsequent sessions costing £5, which includes the use of one of our mountain bikes. If you have your own suitable off-road bike it will cost you just £3 to join a ride. We also offer a pre-paid block of 8 rides for just £35.
