TrailNet are working with various partners
on a number of activity promotion projects. These currently include:
Cycle hire operations at Thorndon Country
Park and Great Notley Country Park in partnership with Essex
County Council
A third cycle hire operation is being
estalished at Langdon Nature Reserve
in collaboration with Essex Wildlife Trust. Scheduled start
is April 2010
Health rides programmes at Thorndon, Purfleet
and Basildon in conjunction with South West Essex PCT and local
councils
Health rides in conjunction with London
Borough of Barking and Dagenham
A joint project with ECC Parks Department to
introduce heritage-based geocaching in nine Essex Country
Parks. Launch date is 19th February 2010
Development of new cycle trails within
Thorndon Country Park and the provision of improved trail
marking
Creation of new, marked cycle trails at
Langdon Nature Reserve and Langdon Hills Country Park. The
family route is now marked and the intermediate and advanced
trails are finalised and will soon be marked
Off-road cycling sessions and other activities
for pupils at local special needs schools
Route design and negotiations for new
multi-user links into Thorndon Park.
