BIKEKLUBZ

Kids love to ride bikes and our BikeKlubz holiday cycling sessions offer a great opportunity for children of all ages to improve their riding.

Depending on age and ability, our courses cover:

  • Getting children off stabilisers
  • Improving bike control and confidence
  • Increasing awareness of other riders, pedestrians and vehicles
  • A fun mix of individual skills and team games
  • Instructor-led group rides

All sessions take place in safe, mostly off-road locations and are delivered by our team of qualified, experienced instructors.

You can read below what parents have had to say about previous sessions:

“The instructors were fantastic and I was very impressed with how the sessions ran. My son thoroughly enjoyed himself. He began the week as a novice, however now he has learnt how to cycle, which I am totally grateful to you guys for."

"The instructors were passionate about cycling and the whole environment was very welcoming and more importantly safe. The lady trainer Jane was superb and I would always recommend these classes to other parents.”

“We especially liked the enthusiasm of the staff and their ability to instil confidence in our daughter to ride without stabilisers. She has progressed fantastically since attending at Easter and taking her first stabiliser free ride.”

“It was great, would thoroughly recommend it – most importantly the extreme patience and friendliness of the teachers.”

SESSION CONTENT

Learner Sessions (2 hours)

Playground or park-based two-hour sessions designed for children between 4 and 8 who either cannot ride a two-wheeled bike or lack basic control and/or confidence. The session will consist of a series of activities and team games aimed at teaching children the basics of safe, controlled riding.

Improver Sessions (2 hours)

Longer sessions for children between 7 and 12 who are confident riders capable of completing a 2-mile off-road ride. The sessions will consist of park-based activities and team games followed by an off-road park ride. Because of the distances and terrain involved, children will need to be riding a bike with at least 16" wheels.

Advanced Session (4 hours)

This is for young people between 8 and 16 who are confident riders with some experience of riding on quiet roads. The sessions will consist of a morning of playground-based activities and team games followed by an afternoon, mostly off-road ride through local parks. Because of the distances and terrain involved, children will need to be riding a bike with at least 20" wheels.
