MEET THE TRAILNET TEAM

Core Staff

GEOFF FLETCHERGEOFF FLETCHER is a director and co-founder of Trailnet. Geoff worked as a design engineering supervisor at a major automotive manufacturer for over 25 years before leaving in 2006 to pursue his interests in activity promotion. Geoff has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering, a BA in Psychology and an MSc in Sport & Exercise Science. He is also a qualified Triathlon coach, a qualified Chair-Based Exercise Leader, holds a MIAS level 2 mountain bike leader qualification, is Cytech (level 1) trained, holds a current First Aid certificate and has enhanced DBS clearance.

ALISON KEMPALISON KEMP has been actively involved in sport for most of her life with an impressive set of achievements that include a black belt in Karate and a London Marathon finish. She is a qualified gym and circuit training instructor and has an Advanced Gym Instructor Certificate. Outside of sport Alison has completed a range of nursery nursing courses and has worked for several years with special needs children. Alison has a MIAS level 2 Mountain Bike Leader award and British Cycling Ride Leader award. She also has a personal training qualification, an enhanced DBS clearance, is Cytech (level 1) trained and holds a current First Aid certification.

CHRIS TOGHERCHRIS TOGHER is an experienced cycle mechanic and has proved invaluable in delivering our Dr. Bike service and supporting our ReSpoke bike recycling project. Chris also has a hidden talent: he can ride a unicycle and is a big hit at our school and community events. Chris is a lifelong cyclist, favouring off-ride riding, and is a member of both Crest Cycling Club and the Century Cycling Club. Chris holds a Cytech level 1 qualification and has an enhanced DBS.

 

JANE BROWN JANE BROWN joined us in April 2010 as manager and activity leader at our Great Notley Cycle Centre after working for five years as a primary school teaching assistant where she gained experience of working with children with a range of learning and behavioural difficulties. Jane has a broad sporting background that includes swimming, badminton, tennis, aerobics, yoga, pilates, karate, trampolining and dance. Jane holds a number of relevant qualifications including British Cycling Ride Leader, CTC Trail Leader, Cytech level 1, and Bikeability Instructor. She has enhanced DBS clearance and a current First Aid certificate.

BERNADETTE LAWSONBERNADETTE LAWSON joined Trailnet in July 2011 and is PA to the Directors and our Events Manager. She has a long career as a personal secretary, bringing experience gained in the legal and banking industries to Trailnet. Additionally she has undertaken various voluntary roles in her spare time, including cycling proficiency and assistant leader with her local group of Beavers Scouts. Bernadette is particularly interested in healthy eating and believes in educating children from an early age in order to set a good base for the remainder of their lives. She has an enhanced DBS clearance.

David Porter

DAVID PORTER was Trailnet’s co-founder and other director until he stepped down in late 2015 to focus on other interests.  David has been the proprietor of Herongate Cycles since 2003 and prior this worked as a Route Development Officer for Sustrans, the sustainable transport charity. David has a BEng in Polymer Engineering, holds a MIAS level 2 mountain bike leader qualification, is Cytech level 1 certified, has a current first-aid certificate and has enhanced CRB clearance. David still helps Trailnet in an advisory capacity and assists with delivering Bike Maintenance courses.
